New License $300 Rebate Continues

Throughout May and June 2005, we are offering our valued customers a $300 (USD) Instant Rebate on the purchase of a new CrypKey license with a 12-month Platinum, Gold or Silver Annual Subscription.

Upgrades to CrypKey 7.0 are included. This rebate applies to the following products: CrypKey Instant, CrypKey SDK, CrypKey DLM, CrypKey SKGL, Casper eRegister and Casper eCommerce.

CrypKey's Improved Website

You may have noticed that we have made revisions to our website. We will continue to do so in the coming months. We hope that you will find it increasingly easier to read as well as a helpful resource for new and exciting developments at CrypKey.

Casper Gets a Makeover

We are currently working on a new build of Casper (CrypKey Automated Software Purchasing & Electronic Registration).

Some of the revisions to Casper will include the following:

• fixed company number parsing for importing serial numbers using old import file format
• improved database updates button (to update the company number)
• a Memo field to the Customer Info page
• the latest e-commerce demo
• credit card processor set up document in the manual directory
• email notification can be configured by company and product code
• Casper Timer Service now resets itself once per day to alleviate memory problems
• the Reports page now remembers the last selections chosen for report type and date
• the serial number is added to the message for the notification email
• the Systems Maintenance pages now fit on one screen and a navigator list box that navigates between all the pages

CrypKey 7.0 is Almost Here!

As you know, we have been working hard at developing CrypKey 7.0. We are pleased to announce the pending release of CrypKey 7.0, which is faster, friendlier, and more flexible than previous versions.

More than 15 years ago, CrypKey developed the original software-based copy protection and licensing system featuring easy licensing, dynamic encryption and enhanced anti-hacking capabilities. As a result of our continued commitment to provide the world's most innovative and reliable license management solutions, we hope CrypKey 7.0 will continue to prove CrypKey's robust technology and assist you in maximizing your product sales.

7.0 Features

Our newest version will include the following exciting features:

• CloneBuster and CrypKey Stealth. All of CrypKey's technological features including CloneBuster to prevent hard-drive cloning and CrypKey Stealth to protect your software from reverse engineering.
• Expanded application capabilities. CrypKey 7.0 is the only product to provide true code encryption, not obfuscation, for .NET applications.
• Enterprise network licensing, which enables a protected program to function anywhere on the enterprise network, thanks to CrypKey's ability to automatically find the license server and transact with it, thereby securing its seat on the network. The networking capability is transparent to the user. The client is not required to have read/write permissions to the server directory and will not need to know where the directory is located.
• NGN will now be a separate process. This allows the user to debug the program while using CrypKey. CrypKey Stealth can be added once debugging is no longer required.
• Enhanced transfer. Users can transfer licenses out of and back into a license pool. This works for any kind of transfer including direct, floppy, and eTransfers.
• eTransfer. In a matter of seconds, licenses can now be quickly and easily transferred from one computer to another via the Internet.
• CrypKey USBKey support. Software developers have the flexibility of giving their customers a hardware key, instead of an electronic one, without code changes. As an added bonus, this hardware key is a 32 MB to 2 GB drive. Additional important data or even the entire application can reside on the USBKey.

In our previous issue, we explained the results of a recent survey of 100 software developers that revealed that their top five (5) preferences when selecting a software security solution are:

Common Pricing Structures

Many software protection firms offer what they call "flexible" pricing but in reality, the more products you sell or the larger your company grows, the more they charge you. If you are making more money on your software products, shouldn't you be able to retain those profits? Some companies offer annual pricing models that may start you out at a lower fee but require you to pay that fee every year. Over three to five years, an annual license can become quite costly. Others offer a per license fee which means you pay for each license issued. This also means you could be paying a fee each time you issue a demo or evaluation license to a prospective customer.

Our Simplified Pricing Model
