CrypKey 7.0 Alpha Testing in Progress

We are currently testing CrypKey 7.0 (alpha version) featuring Enterprise Licensing, which enables a protected program to function anywhere on the enterprise network. In addition to .NET protection and Enterprise Licensing, CrypKey 7.0 will include these additional benefits:

• enhanced license transfer – permits users to transfer licenses out of and back into a license pool;
• eTransfer – allows licenses to be quickly and easily transferred from one computer to another via the Internet;
• separate NGN process – permits users to debug a program while using CrypKey;
• CrypKey USBKey support – allows you to give your customers a hardware key without code changes vs. an electronic one; and
• CrypKey technologies – features all CrypKey technologies including CloneBuster to prevent hard drive cloning and CrypKey Stealth to prevent reverse engineering.

CrypKey 7.0, our newest product release, has many exciting new features including “Enterprise Licensing.” CrypKey Enterprise Licensing incorporates True Client-Server Network Licensing (TCSNL) to control software licenses.

These are some of the key benefits that CrypKey 7.0’s Enterprise Licensing feature offers:

1. NO client configuration required! Clients can automatically find licenses anywhere on the network. Clients do not have to know where the license is on the network. This means end-users do not need know where the server or the license is, nor do they need to do any configuration for their software to be able to find the license on the network. Users simply start the program, and the rest is done automatically.
2. NO client down time! If a server goes down, clients automatically use another available server. The client can obtain a license from any number of servers. This means there can be alternate servers, in case the primary is down for repair or service. Also, the licensing for a large number of clients can be distributed among as many servers as needed to manage the load.
3. NO long delays waiting for a license! Network protocol communication from client to server is fast. This means that this type of licensing can handle many clients requesting information at the same time, such as in a classroom start-up situation. Even under a spiked load situation everyone can get their license quickly.
4. NO compromised server security! The client does not have to have file read-write permissions to the server hard drive. This means there is no chance of:
   • an end-user accidentally or maliciously deleting license files;
   • file sharing requirements causing security risks for the server;
   • file-sharing requirements causing conflicts with typical security policies; and
   • a time-consuming burden for the server administrator to create drive shares for each desired client.
5. EASY admin license control! The administrator can easily set who can use the license. The administrator can easily control which domains, computers, or users can or cannot access a license. As such, it is easy to ensure that the software will be used only by those whom the administrator desires should use it.
6. EASY for clients to control! Clients can choose which server to try first for a license. The end-user can optionally control where CrypKey can look for the license. The end-user can time-optimize the search or restrict its focus.
